New Thermal Power Plant with 50MW capacity in operation
Mongolia recently inaugurated a 50 MW thermal power plant in the eastern region to address rising energy demands, bolster economic growth, and reduce the pressure on the central grid. Designed to produce 300 million kWh annually, this facility will supply consistent electricity across several provinces, benefiting households, industries, and the expanding mining sector. Part of the Mongolian government’s strategy to boost energy independence, the plant aligns with Mongolia-China cooperative efforts and introduces advanced technology that minimizes environmental impact. The plant's opening has also created 130 permanent jobs, supporting local employment and economic resilience.
This power plant marks a significant step toward meeting Mongolia’s growing energy needs with sustainable solutions. With its modern, eco-friendly technology, the plant exemplifies a commitment to efficient, cleaner energy production and enhanced national infrastructure. By securing an essential power source for residential and industrial use, the project is poised to stimulate long-term regional development.
